Abraham Feder was the Assistant Principal Cellist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra from 2018-2025. He plays regulalry with the Minnesota Orchestra cello section. Praised for his “intensely personal and sweepingly romantic” style, Abraham is emerging as a leader in orchestral and chamber music performance; and as an educator for young cellists. Prior to his Detroit Symphony appointment in 2018, he was a member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Principal Cello of the Sarasota Orchestra. He is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Rice University. He has studied with David Soyer, Peter Wiley, Desmond Hoebig, and Richard Hirschl. He is based in Shorewood, MN just outside Minneapolis.
